Learn How to Use Our Football Betting Tools

Using Trends to Rank Football Teams by Performance and Set Bulk Alerts

The Trends page is essentially a powerful ranking tool. It lets you sort every team in the world by a specific outcome or metric, creating convenient shortlists for your research. Whether you want to find teams with 100% home win records, sides that consistently see late goals, or matches likely to have first half action, Trends surfaces the data instantly.

This tool is perfect for bettors who want to work with historical performance data rather than predictions. Instead of guessing which teams are strong at home, you can see the actual records — and more importantly, set alerts on those games so you're notified when odds reach your target price.

The real power comes from bulk alerts. Once you've filtered to your criteria, you can set alerts on hundreds of games with a single click. No more manually tracking each fixture.

How to Use Trends

Follow these steps to find teams with strong records and set alerts on their upcoming games.

  1. Start with the Overview — When you first visit the Trends page, you'll see 16 of the most popular markets including Home Wins, Away Wins, Over 2.5 Goals, BTTS, and Late Goals. This gives you a quick snapshot across the key outcomes.
  2. Choose Your Market — Select the specific outcome you want to rank teams by. There are over 35 markets available, from standard ones like Home Wins to more specific ones like First Half Goals or Late Goals (after 70 minutes).
  3. Set Your Time Frame — Filter fixtures by kickoff time. You can view games in the next 12 hours, 24 hours, 5 days, or 72 hours depending on how far ahead you want to plan.
  4. Review the Rankings — Each table shows teams ranked by their record for that outcome. You'll see the team name, their occurrence (e.g., 6 out of 6), the percentage (e.g., 100%), and the current odds. Teams must have played at least 6 games to appear.
  5. Click for More Details — Click on any team name to open an overlay with key metrics about both teams in that fixture. The stats shown are dynamic and relevant to the market you're viewing.
  6. Set Individual Alerts — Click on any odds value to instantly set an alert. For example, if a team with a 100% home record is priced at 1.46, you can set an alert to notify you when odds hit 1.9 (perhaps if they go behind in the game).
  7. Use Bulk Alerts — Click the Bulk Alerts button to set alerts on multiple games at once. Set your minimum hit rate (e.g., 90%), maximum current odds (e.g., 1.4), and target odds (e.g., 2.1), then save to create alerts on all matching games instantly.

Key Features

Here's what makes Trends essential for systematic betting research.

35+ Outcome Markets

Trends covers far more than basic win/lose markets. You can rank teams by Late Goals (after 70 minutes), First Half Goals, BTTS, Over/Under lines, and many more specific outcomes. Each market shows three views: home teams only, away teams only, and a combined overall ranking.

One-Click Alert Setting

Every odds value in the Trends tables is clickable. Tap it, enter your target price, and you'll receive a Telegram alert when that price is available — complete with pre-game stats reminding you why you set the alert in the first place.

Bulk Alerts

This is the killer feature. Instead of setting alerts one by one, define your criteria (minimum hit rate, maximum current odds, target odds) and create alerts on hundreds of games simultaneously. Perfect for systematic approaches where you want coverage across all qualifying fixtures.

Games Without Odds

Some games don't have odds available yet, but they still appear in Trends. This means you can capture opportunities on fixtures before bookmakers have even priced them up — set your alert and be ready when odds appear.

Telegram Bot Access

Access Trends data directly from your phone via the Telegram bot. Use smart commands to request the top 10 teams for any market (e.g., Over 2.5 Goals) and get an instant response. Perfect when you're on the move and need a quick shortlist.

API and CSV Export

For advanced users, Trends data is available through the OddAlerts JSON API. You can also download CSV files for certain markets to do your own modelling and statistical analysis.

Practical Example

Let's say you want to find strong home teams for tonight's fixtures.

You go to Trends and select Home Wins. The table shows all teams with home games in the next 5 days, ranked by their home win percentage. At the top, you see several teams with 100% records — they've won all 6+ home games this season.

One team from Turkey catches your eye: 6 wins from 6 home games, conceding just 0.33 goals per game at home. They're priced at 1.46 to win tonight. You click the odds and set an alert for 1.9 — if they concede early or the game starts slowly, you'll be notified when the price drifts to your target.

But you want more coverage. You click Bulk Alerts and set: minimum 90% hit rate, maximum 1.4 current odds, target 2.1. You save, and instantly you've got alerts on every strong home favourite across tonight's fixtures. When any of them drift to 2.1 in-play, your phone buzzes.

Tips for Getting the Most from Trends

  • Use the 6-game minimum to your advantage. Every team in Trends has played at least 6 relevant games, so you're always working with meaningful sample sizes, not fluky 2-from-2 records.
  • Combine home and away views. For markets like First Half Goals, check both the home team's record AND the away team's record. The Overall tab combines both, giving you the strongest fixtures.
  • Set bulk alerts with tight criteria. Start with 90%+ hit rates and low current odds. This ensures you're only alerted on the strongest candidates when prices move.
  • Use the Telegram bot for quick checks. If you're out and want to see today's top Over 2.5 teams, just message the bot. No need to open the full site.
  • Export to CSV for deeper analysis. If you're building models or want to backtest, download the CSV data and run your own numbers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many games does a team need to appear in Trends?

Teams must have played at least 6 games in the relevant context (home or away) to appear in the rankings. This ensures you're seeing meaningful records, not small sample flukes.

What markets are available on Trends?

Over 35 markets including Home Wins, Away Wins, BTTS, Over/Under goals lines, Late Goals (after 70'), First Half Goals, and many more. The Overview page shows the 16 most popular.

Can I set alerts on games that don't have odds yet?

Yes. Games appear in Trends based on team records even before bookmakers have priced them. Set your alert and you'll be notified when odds become available and hit your target.

What's the difference between individual alerts and bulk alerts?

Individual alerts are set by clicking a specific odds value for one game. Bulk alerts let you define criteria (hit rate, current odds, target odds) and create alerts on ALL matching games at once — potentially hundreds of fixtures.

Can I access Trends data via API?

Yes. The Trends data is available through the OddAlerts JSON API for developers. CSV downloads are also available for certain markets.
