A signing like no other...
Draft a legal fifteen with every squad rule enforced, filtering the pool on any statistic.
Projected points, auto-pick and the transfer suggestions come from the points model, which is Pro.
Already have a team on the FPL site? The team rater pulls your fifteen in by ID and scores it, rather than making you rebuild it here.
Drafting a Fantasy Premier League squad is a constraint problem before it is a football problem. Fifteen players, a hundred million pounds, two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders, three forwards, and no more than three players from any single club. Most squad planners let you break those rules and tell you afterwards. This one enforces them as you pick, so anything you build is a squad you could actually enter.
The part that makes this quicker than a spreadsheet is the stat filters. Searching by name and position only helps when you already know who you are looking for, and the whole point of squad building is finding the player you have not thought of. Stack conditions instead: midfielders under £6.5m with at least ten defensive actions per 90 and more than 1,500 minutes played, or defenders at clubs with an expected goals conceded under one. Filters combine, and every column in the player explorer is available as one.
Per-90 rates are adjusted for the size of the sample behind them, which matters more here than anywhere else. A raw per-90 column puts a substitute who made one tackle in one minute at the top of the defensive rankings, and if you are filtering rather than eyeballing a table you will never notice the mistake.
The builder works out the highest-scoring legal eleven your fifteen can field, trying every valid formation rather than assuming one. That matters while a squad is half-built: with one goalkeeper and three defenders picked, a tool that assumes 3-4-3 will tell you that you have nobody to play, when in fact you have four players who would all start. Partial squads are scored on what they can actually field.
That eleven is a starting point, not a verdict. Once you can field a full side, the swap icon on any player puts the pitch into substitution mode: the players who can legally take their place light up, everyone else dims, and the formation reshapes itself around the change. Bring a midfielder on for a defender and a 4-4-2 becomes a 3-5-2 without you touching a formation dropdown, because the shape is simply whoever you have chosen to play. The armband moves with the C button, and Best XI hands the selection back to the model whenever you want to start again.
Auto-pick fills the squad by projected points per million within the budget and the club limit, which gives you a sane starting point to argue with rather than a finished team. The upgrade list shows the single transfers that would add the most projected points inside the money you have left, restricted to moves you can actually make.
If your team already exists on the FPL site, the team rater imports it by ID and scores it directly. The fixture ticker shows which clubs have the runs worth buying into, and defensive contributions covers the scoring rule that most changes which cheap defenders and midfielders are worth owning.
