How to Use the Sports Edge Bot

This used to be the Pinnacle Edge Bot. Pinnacle was the only opinion it listened to. Now the fair price comes from a panel of sharp books, with each margin removed, so one slow line at one bookmaker cannot invent an edge on its own. The name changed because the bot no longer belongs to one bookmaker.

The idea is the same. Sharp books take big bets and move quickly, so their prices are the best guess at the real chance. Soft books are slower. When a soft book is paying more than the fair price, that is a value bet, and beating the price that sticks at kick-off is closing line value. The Sports Edge Bot finds those prices while you are doing something else.

The fair price

Every sharp price has a margin built in. Add up the implied probabilities on a market and you get more than 100%. The extra is the bookmaker's cut. Removing it is called de-vigging, and the bot does it for you.

The default method is ours. Power, additive, multiplicative and Shin are there too, plus "none" if you want the raw sharp price. They split the margin differently, mostly at the extremes. Shin and power lean harder on longshots, where books tend to hide more of their cut. If you do not have a view, leave it on the default. Switching methods until a bet appears is fooling yourself.

The edge is the gap between the soft price and that fair price. A fair 2.00 against a soft 2.20 is a 10% edge.

The bookmakers

Bet365 and the Betfair Exchange are available to everyone on Pro. Betano, Kambi, 1xBet and FanDuel are the newer targets, and they need Advanced or a Season Ticket. Kambi covers a lot of brands that run on its prices, so one setting there reaches further than the name suggests.

Each row links straight to the event at the bookmaker. Edges at soft books close quickly, and hunting for the match in a menu is where most of them go.

The markets

Moneyline, spreads, totals and draw no bet. Half and quarter lines. Team totals, corners, bookings and both teams to score. Player props where the sharp market prices them. You pick which ones you want. Leave sports open unless you have a reason. A 6% edge on basketball is the same 6% as one on football.

How to use it

  1. Open the bot — Go to Sports Edge Bot and look at the live feed before you build anything. It shows you what a normal day of edges looks like.
  2. Connect Telegram — Use the connect button. Alerts come from @PinnacleEdgeBot, which needs its own Start in Telegram, separate from the other OddAlerts bots.
  3. Create a named alert — Minimum edge, odds range, de-vig method, sports, markets and bookmaker. Name it after the plan, like "Late football totals", so you know why it buzzed.
  4. Set time to kick-off — Close to kick-off is when the sharp books are at their best and the soft ones are slowest to follow. One minute is the shortest window.
  5. Bet the link, then track it — Use the direct link, and log it in bet tracking. Whether you beat the closing price is the number to watch, more than this week's profit.

FAQ

What happened to the Pinnacle Edge Bot?

This is it. Same page, same Telegram bot, same alerts. The fair price now comes from several sharp books rather than Pinnacle alone, and there are more soft books to compare against.

Do I need to keep the site open?

No. Alerts run on our side and arrive on Telegram with the browser closed.

Why don't I see Betano or FanDuel?

Those four bookmakers need Advanced or a Season Ticket. Bet365 and the Betfair Exchange are on every Pro account.

Will the bookmakers limit me?

Soft books limit accounts that keep beating the closing price. That is the cost of betting this way. Spreading bets across books, and not always taking the biggest edge on the board, helps for a while.
